A beatuiful bard on a snowy day here in Bardstown Kentucky. I was lucky to have gorgeous blue skies and clouds the day after getting some snow. I had been wanting to photography this barnd and it was calling my name as I was out driving around. I have used and HDR and texture to give the image a painterly look and a little more pop to the detail.
First settled in 1780, Bardstown is the second oldest city in Kentucky.[5] Named county seat of the newly created Nelson County, Virginia (now Kentucky) in 1784, the town was formally established in 1788, and was incorporated by the state assembly in 1838.[3]
Reflecting the westward migration of Americans after the Revolutionary War, Bardstown was the first center of Catholicism west of the Appalachian Mountains in the original territory of the United States.[6] The Diocese of Bardstown was established on February 8, 1808, to serve all Catholics between the Appalachians and the Mississippi River, an area now served by 44 dioces...
