Description
A great image of our new little Chihuahua nose to nose with out Pity. Our Pity has taken on the job of watching over the little guy and making sure he is okay and has a play mate along with protector. I used effects and textures to give the image the looking of a painting. I love the moment I was able to capture between the two of them. It also goes to show that no matter how small we may be we can stand up to anything no matter the size. Here is a little information about the Chihuahua. The Chihuahuas history is puzzling and there are many theories surrounding the origin of the breed. Both folklore and archaeological finds show that the breed originated in Mexico. The most common and most likely theory is that Chihuahuas are descended from the Techichi, a companion dog favored by the Toltec civilization in Mexico.[2] No records of the Techichi are available prior to the 9th century, although dog pots from Colima, Mexico, buried as part of the western Mexico shaft tomb tradition which date back to 300 BC are thought to depict Techichis.[3] It is probable that earlier ancestors were present prior to the Mayans as dogs approximating the Chihuahua are found in materials from the Great Pyramid of Cholula, predating 1530 and in the ruins of Chichen Itza on the Yucatn Peninsula.
Now a little info on the Pit. It often surprises people to learn that this extremely muscular dog with the impressive, confident presence is so easygoing.
A well-bred American Pit Bull Terrier is a dependable, good-natured, loyal companion.
Athletic and agile, with finely tuned reflexes, he must have moderate daily exercise to maintain his splendid muscle tone.
Companionship is even more important, and extensive ongoing socialization is paramount. His attitude toward strangers varies from exuberant face kissing to polite reserve, and guarding instincts vary from high to nil, with some lines being much stronger tempered than others.
